Funding for a Resource Centre
Brighter Path is funding a resource centre for Generation Never Give Up. GNG was founded by care leavers for care leavers and advocates for better rights and representation of this group in Sri Lankan society as well as providing practical support through it’s care leaver’s network. Brighter Path’s initial grant last year enabled GNG to hire a full-time administrator, a care leaver herself, and to equip its office with a computer, printer and telephone. The grant also enabled GNG to host a few meetings and social events for care leavers.
The resource centre is now fully operational and helping GNG further its campaigning work for better rights for care leavers, including legal recognition for those without birth certificates.
Brighter Path is excited to have just approved another grant to fund the GNG resource centre for the next 6 months.
